IRONWORKS is a collection of jewelry honoring the ironwork that adorns the Cabildo and other historic sites in the Vieux Carré. Marcellino Hernandez was one of the most renowned of the Spanish iron forgers in Louisiana. I feel this decorative work serves as a metaphor for the resilience and fortitude that has always characterized our people. It is my expression of deep faith in our recovery.
