About John Humphries

New Orleans jewelry designer John Humphries unveiled his latest collection, SECOND LINE, at an Art for Art's Sake celebration on October 2, 2010. The collection, featuring bold bracelets, statement necklaces, and fluid earrings, debuted to rave reviews.

Humphries has worked for Mignon Faget, Ltd. for many years- beginning as a buffer and bench jeweler and eventually becoming technology services manager. "I was fortunate to be in a position to create, a place to learn the jewelry business." Now with the debut of his second collection, Humphries has found his niche as a designer.

SECOND LINE is an intriguing addition to Humphries' first collection Q. The designs in both Q and SECOND LINE feature techniques using sterling silver and stainless steel ball chain. "Ball chain feels good and when you align it becomes graphic and fluid." The result is contemporary, edgy jewelry for women and men. John Humphries' bracelets and necklaces feature a unique clasp. "I played electric guitars and they are magnetic. I fell in love with magnets." Along with his innovative chain binding technique; Humphries patented a magnetic, interlocking clasp that is now the trademark of his modern designs.

More designs are expected to be added to the John Humphries collection as the tradition of jewelry design and high quality wearable art continues at Mignon Faget, Ltd.
