Clementine Hunter Gone Fishing
Platter made by Doug Gitter. Hand-painted ceramic. Doug Gitter began collecting contemporary American Folk art when he was twenty-three years old and created Gitter Gallery because he wanted to share his love of the genre with others. The Clementine Hunter collection depicts the things she observed during her life on the Melrose Plantation. Her famous paintings of cotton pickings, washdays, pecan pickings, weddings, baptisms, funerals and other scenes of life on Melrose have made her works an important part of American history.
